IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to an unforeseen schedule conflict, we have shifted the date of our PR Bazaar to Wednesday, June 25 at 5 p.m. It will be held in the Akerson Tower conference rooms in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

For 16 years, the late Wendi Winters of the Capital Gazette led the PR Bazaar as a way to empower nonprofits and small businesses with the tools to share their stories. Inspired by her vision of a local “Meet the Press,” this year’s event continues her legacy with an afternoon of insights, connections, and community impact.

Hosted by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Chesapeake Chapter, the 2025 PR Bazaar will feature a panel of media professionals from across the region, sharing practical advice on how to pitch stories, build relationships with the press, and navigate today’s media landscape. A dynamic speed networking session will bring together nonprofit leaders and local journalists for rapid-fire conversations and meaningful new connections.

A portion of event proceeds will benefit the Wendi Winters Memorial Foundation, continuing Wendi’s mission to uplift voices and strengthen community ties through storytelling.

The keynote speaker will be Brie Jackson, a Washington, DC based correspondent with more than 15 years of experience in television news, with a focus on political coverage. She most recently provided coverage for NBC News, MSNBC, and CNBC covering stories about Capitol Hill, the White House, and breaking news in the nation’s capital.
